Enhanced Weathering Policy Primer

The Carbon Business Council published the Enhanced Weathering Policy Primer. This publication was developed by a group of enhanced weathering members and partners convened by the Carbon Business Council. As the Policy Primer details, enhanced weathering (EW) is a promising carbon dioxide removal approach that also offers substantial agronomic and economic co-benefits to farmers. It highlights the EW moment; identifies key challenges; and offers a set of focused recommendations for policymakers, the emerging EW commercial sector, and other CDR ecosystem actors to responsibly accelerate the advancement, deployment, and scaling of EW.

The Policy Primer released is paired with the news that the Enhanced Weathering Alliance has launched, bringing together top-tier companies in the pursuit of advancing enhanced weathering for carbon removal. The EWA advocates for policy that helps intensify and accelerate carbon removal deployment. The Carbon Business Council, a nonprofit trade association of more than 100 carbon management companies, is serving as the Secretariat.
