Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal: Resources
The Carbon Business Council published an issue brief about Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal (mCDR). When responsibly deployed, mCDR has the potential to offer significant climate benefits, while also contributing to sustainable economic development for coastal communities, maritime nations, and small island developing states.
In this Issue Brief, a coalition of Carbon Business Council mCDR member companies and partners highlight the opportunity of mCDR; identify pathways to enable research, development, and deployment; and offer focused recommendations for policymakers, NGOs, and businesses, to responsibly accelerate the advancement of mCDR.
Read the Issue Brief below, which was first published in 2024. For additional mCDR and carbon removal updates, subscribe to the Carbon Fix, a biweekly no-cost newsletter rounding up updates for the carbon removal community. Questions or comments? Let us know at info@carbonbusinesscouncil.org.
